✨ In this Submagic review, I created my very own YouTube short and used Submagic’s AI video captioning process to add the subtitles. πŸͺ„

I then uploaded the video so you can see the results for yourself! If you want to skip straight to the results, the video is in step 4.

If you wanted the TLDR; Yes Submagic is worth it for for AI subtitles and captions in 2023.

What better way to review Submagic than to actually use it to add captions my latest YouTube short!?

In this article, I’ll walk you through the entire process of using Submagic to create captions on a YouTube short so you can see the results for yourself.

Let’s learn how to create captivating content with Submagic. πŸ‘‡

Step 1 - Sign Up

First of all, I went over to Submagic and signed up.

The Basic monthly plan gets you 20 videos per month for $20 and trust me, when you see how much time Submagic saves in video editing, $1 per video is seriously good value.

Anyway, the basic monthly plan was enough for me. If you plan on doing more than 20 videos per month, the Pro plan has unlimited uploads, which is an excellent deal as well.

Step 2 - Upload Your Video File

Let's get into the fun stuff.

Drag and drop your video content into Submagic to get started with the upload.

Once the video file uploads, Submagic's speech recognition engine wastes no time and begins transcribing audio straight away.

Step 3 - Tweak Your Captions

I'm not gunna lie, I was really impressed with the captioning process.

Straight outta the box, Submagic's AI intelligently highlighted keywords and generated captions with perfect emojis. βœ…

There were a few minor changes I made to the words but that was it! For example, at one point the AI mistook the 'Elon' for 'long'... but that could have been my muffled voice's fault! 🀣

From there, I played around with the 8 available caption styles. I was tossing up between Hormozi and Devin style but ended up going with 'Hormozi2' captions. It's here you can tweak the caption colors, size, and Y position too.

Another great feature of Submagic is the static caption and hashtag generator in the third column. Submagic automatically generated the static caption below. I'll use it for my YouTube upload!

Step 4 - Save and Export

We're done already! Save your project and click export.

The export process can take a minute or two but Submagic automatically sends you an email when the process is complete, which is super handy.

You can see how these captions emphasize key points and would increase viewer engagement!

October Update - Views

It's been almost 3 weeks now since I uploaded my YouTube short with Submagic captions and the results have been pretty good! While the short has only seen about 1700 views so far, it got 4 subscribers! Which is actually pretty high for that many views on a short.

I've done better and I've done worse (much worse), but It appears Submagic improved the rate at which people are subscribing to my shorts.

The Verdict on Submagic

Submagic is a top choice for AI-generated captions that feature automatic emojis. The tool offers multiple caption styles and simple editing features. While it's excellent for short-form content creators, those with videos longer than 90 seconds won’t find Submagic useful. Ideal for Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok creators aiming to boost viewer engagement.

As someone who used to spend hours manually playing around with my captions in Premiere Pro, I can confidently say that Submagic is the best caption generator in 2023, it's absolutely worth it.

It took me less the 5 minutes to upload my video, make a few tweaks, and export the final take complete with intelligently highlighted keywords and automatically generated emojis. 🀯

If I wanted to create captions with perfect emojis and highlighted keywords like the ones Submagic generated in just a few clicks, it would have seriously taken me a few hours in Premiere Pro.

The only drawback with Submagic is that it's currently limited to 90 second uploads, which isn't ideal for anyone looking to caption lengthy videos.

For anyone looking to save a massive amount of time, increase viewer engagement, and automatically create captivating content from your audio or video file, Submagic is a no brainer.

The conclusion was that yes, Submagic absolutely lives up to the hype.

Submagic's speech recognition engine and online video editing will impose world class captions on your content in literal seconds, not only great for enhancing viewer engagement and generating auto descriptions, but saving massive amounts of time.

The 'bang-for-buck' you get with Submagic makes it a no-brainer for any short form content creator looking to easily generate captions in 2023.
